This classic Thousand Island salad dressing was a huge ‘YES’ for me. I loved it. The traditional flavors were spot on fantastic. Just a few ingredients and just a little time were all it took to make one of the best homemade dressings I’ve had. I cannot wait for my next salad when I get to use more of this dressing!

Classic Thousand Island Salad Dressing

Goodnight. Sleep Tight.

You’ll want this classic Thousand Island salad dressing to ‘get happy’ in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. Overnight is better. The flavors (particularly that of the grated onion) get much better. Not that they’re bad to start with, but they go into super-delicious mode after a good night’s rest.

I like to taste my dressings right after I make them. For sure, you want to do that to make sure you have the seasonings right. When I first tasted this one, it wasn’t as ‘Thousand Island-y’ as I wanted. I resisted the temptation to mess with it. To add more of something. My resistance was rewarded. It just needs a little time for the flavors to meld. No messing with it is required!
