We’re continuing our journey enjoying the various bottled salad dressings we find at our local grocery stores or online. Though we make our own dressings, it’s nice to try the pre-made versions sometimes. And usually it’s easier! Today’s dressing is from Meijer. Sold under the name Frederik’s by Meijer, the peppercorn bacon Ranch salad dressing is a thicker sauce. The peppercorn and bacon flavors are subtle, but noticeable.

Nice and thick…
I’d call Frederik’s by Meijer Peppercorn Bacon Ranch salad dressing a heavy duty dressing. It’s not going to run off your salad no matter how high you stack the ingredients. I’d say it’s closer to mayonnaise-thickness. It’s got a little sweetness to it, almost buttermilk-like. If you’re getting the dressing out of the fridge, let it set at room temperature for 10 or so minutes before serving then give it a good shake or stir. It’ll be a bit easier to pour when it’s a bit warmer (but not warm!).
Not just for salads…
Given that it’s thick and well-flavored, this dressing also makes for a fantastic dip for vegetables. Carrots, celery sticks, broccoli, cauliflower, you name it, would all be great after a dip in this sauce!
