Chick-fil-A Garden Herb Ranch Salad Dressing

Chick-fil-A recently made their salad dressings available in grocery stores. I’m probably the only one on the planet that hasn’t had their dressings in their restaurants. I grabbed a bottle of each new flavor and got to making some salads. First up, I used the Chick-fil-A Garden Herb Ranch salad dressing. I had to. I’m a Ranch addict. And I’m a picky Ranch addict at that. And this dressing passed all of my tests.

I’m a certified Ranch-o-holic

Nice and creamy, but not too creamy so that it’s ewww gloppy. Perfectly flavored, without being too salty or Ranch-y. It was difficult to resist the temptation to put way too much dressing on my salad. I found that a little restraint was rewarded by great flavor. No need to drown a salad to get good Ranch flavor here!

Chick-fil-A Garden Herb Ranch Salad Dressing

If I was forced to have a complaint about the Chick-fil-A Garden Herb Ranch salad dressing is that the bottle it comes in is a bit small. Like I said, I’m a Ranch-aholic. Normal people are probably just fine with the 12 ounce bottles. I of course have a solution to my problem, I buy 3-4 of them at a time!

Chick-fil-A Creamy Salsa Salad Dressing

Chick-fil-A recently made their salad dressings available in grocery stores. I’m probably the only one on the planet that hasn’t had their dressings in their restaurants. I grabbed a bottle of each new flavor and got to making some salads. This is my second flavor, the Chick-fil-A Creamy Salsa salad dressing. This is now my favorite dressing. And not just sorta, either. It makes me think of sour cream combined with a little salsa and some lime juice. And a bit of chile powder and cumin, but not too much. It has just a little hint of spiciness. I could drink this stuff out of the bottle. I’d dip veggies into it. Or I’d drizzle it on tacos for sure. I’d freeze it into salad dressing pops. Ok, maybe not that.

Bigger would be better…

If I was forced to have a complaint about the Chick-fil-A Creamy Salsa salad dressing is that the bottle it comes in is a bit small. I really, really like it. A lot. Panera Bread Greek Vinaigrette

Panera Bread Greek Vinaigrette is superb. I could’ve just grabbed a straw and drank it out of the bottle. Even though I was ‘just’ having a small salad, this dressing made it special and then some. Not too vinegary, this dressing is nice and creamy with a slight hint of garlic and plenty of spices that make me think ‘Mediterranean’. I really hated the moment my salad was gone.

Panera Bread Greek Vinaigrette

Mediterranean Flavors in every Bite

I’ve read where Panera Bread Greek Vinaigrette is often used as a marinade. I could see that it would be fantastic on chicken. A few hours in a ‘dressing bath’ then onto the grill, chicken breasts would be delicious. But, that’s not what I first thought of when I tasted it. I thought: submarine sandwich. Yep. That’s right. Vinegar and oil or even cream Italian dressings often end up on subs. This dressing would be phenomenal on a sandwich. That’s exactly where my next bottle is going.

Frederik’s by Meijer Peppercorn Bacon Ranch Salad Dressing

We’re continuing our journey enjoying the various bottled salad dressings we find at our local grocery stores or online. Though we make our own dressings, it’s nice to try the pre-made versions sometimes. And usually it’s easier! Today’s dressing is from Meijer. Sold under the name Frederik’s by Meijer, the peppercorn bacon Ranch salad dressing is a thicker sauce. The peppercorn and bacon flavors are subtle, but noticeable.

Nice and thick…

I’d call Frederik’s by Meijer Peppercorn Bacon Ranch salad dressing a heavy duty dressing. It’s not going to run off your salad no matter how high you stack the ingredients. I’d say it’s closer to mayonnaise-thickness. It’s got a little sweetness to it, almost buttermilk-like. If you’re getting the dressing out of the fridge, let it set at room temperature for 10 or so minutes before serving then give it a good shake or stir. It’ll be a bit easier to pour when it’s a bit warmer (but not warm!).

Not just for salads…

Given that it’s thick and well-flavored, this dressing also makes for a fantastic dip for vegetables. Carrots, celery sticks, broccoli, cauliflower, you name it, would all be great after a dip in this sauce!

California Pizza Kitchen Thai Salad Dressing

No, I did not have to sleep on the sofa. But, there was dissent in our household over this California Pizza Kitchen Thai salad dressing. We both loved the peanut flavor. And the soy sauce adds that nice Asian-inspired component. The dressing is slightly sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. But then came the sesame oil and our opinions began to differ. My wife loved it, thought it was the perfect balance and addition to the dressing. Me, I thought it was a bit too much. When I cook with sesame oil I tend to use less than the recipe calls for. I would’ve used less when making this dressing, too.

Not Just A Salad Dressing

I could see, however, using California Pizza Kitchen Thai Salad Dressing on something other than salads. Perhaps as a marinade for grilled chicken. Or as a dipping sauce for pot stickers or, oh yum, egg rolls. It’s not a bad dressing, not at all. My wife absolutely loves it. If you’re into sesame oil, though, you’ll love it too. For my tastes, I’d just tame the sesame oil a bit.

Briannas Home Style Asiago Caesar Salad Dressing

If forced to come up with a number, I’d say about half the time I make my salad dressings from scratch and the other half of the time I buy bottled dressings. Some are just ‘ok’. Some are fantastic. Like Briannas Home Style Asiago Caesar Salad Dressing. I absolutely loved this dressing. I’ve always been a fan of good Caesar dressings and this one nailed it.

Just the right amount of vinegar

The vinegar flavor in Briannas Home Style Asiago Caesar Salad Dressing isn’t over-powering. The Asiago cheese brings a wonderful nutty, creamy flavor that really made me happy. The ingredient list is quite amazing. There’s everything from balsamic vinegar to soy sauce to Dijon mustard in it. How they were able to put so many quality ingredients together and get such a perfect dressing is beyond me!

Just the right consistency

This dressing has the perfect consistency. Not too thick so I have to bang on the bottle to get it out. Not too thin so that it runs off my salad and forms a lake at the bottom of my plate.

This is the first dressing from Briannas that I’ve tried. I’m looking forward to trying some of their other flavors. If they’re as great as this one I’ll be one happy guy!
