Roasted Garlic Dijon Salad Dressing

I would not call myself a mustard-aholic. It seems to depend on the day as to whether or not I’m all-in on a mustardy dressing or not. Fortunately, though, this roasted garlic Dijon salad dressing didn’t require that I be in the mood for mustard. It has just the right amount of mustard-ness. It’s slightly sweet with a hint of roasted garlic, one of my favorite flavors. And a little citrus to boot. It’s got everything, all in an easy-to-make dressing.

Roasted Garlic Dijon Salad Dressing

More Garlic is More Better

I’m quite the garlic fan, so I will double the amount in this recipe the next time I make it. I’m ok with it being up front in my roasted garlic Dijon salad dressing instead of just kind of hanging around with the other flavors.

No Need For Fancy Dijon

I used our local grocery store’s Dijon mustard. Nothing fancy. You can go fancy if you want, but I don’t think it’ll make a big difference as long as you’re using a mustard that you like to use in other recipes. It’s like cooking with wine. You don’t cook with a wine you don’t like. Don’t make a dressing with a mustard you don’t like either!

Rich and Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing

This rich and creamy blue cheese dressing is dangerous. It’s a bit too good. Too creamy. Too blue cheesy. Too rich. I had to really exercise self-control when I made a salad and this dressing. I could’ve easily ended up embarrassing myself. Self-control was difficult. I love this dressing. I can’t wait to make it again.

Rich and Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing

Give It A Rest

This rich and creamy blue cheese dressing gets better with time. It’s hard not to eat it as soon as you make it, but you gotta let it rest. Make it, cover it, and put it in the fridge and try not to think about it. Don’t go peeking at it. Don’t go ‘test tasting’ it. Just let it be. I found that going on a long walk helps. Something to get my mind off of the goodness that awaits.

This dressing is fantastic for dipping wings, too!

Next time I’m doubling the recipe. To keep myself from using it all at once, I serve it in these little cups.

I love this dressing on a homemade Subway oven-roasted turkey and ham sub in a tub!

Quick Fix Franch Salad Dressing

Franch dressing is proof that sometimes easy is truly best. I could’ve made some French dressing from scratch. And I could’ve made some Ranch dressing from scratch. But hey, it was a busy weeknight and I wanted something a little different. So out came the bottled dressings. A little stirring and boom, done. And what a delicious combination the two make! Quick fix Franch dressing is way better than just French and just Ranch dressings. The two are better together.

Quick Fix Franch Salad Dressing

The Perfect Flavor Combination

I used a creamy French dressing and a buttermilk Ranch dressing when I made quick fix Franch dressing. You could also use a sweet French dressing, but to offset the sweetness you might want to then use a spicy Ranch or even a Buffalo Ranch dressing. Play with it. There’s no wrong answer here. You can’t make a bad dressing when you start with two great ones.

Quick Fix BBQ Ranch Salad Dressing

A lot of the signature sauces you get at restaurants start with simple, off-the-shelf ingredients. A restaurant near us starts with a bottled BBQ sauce and Ranch, just like with this quick fix BBQ Ranch dressing. They then add a few other ingredients (such as crumbled cooked bacon) to make it different for different dishes. One version is for dipping onion rings. Another is perfect for dunking chicken wings. They also have a spicy version of their house Ranch salad dressing for well, you guessed it, salads.

Quick Fix BBQ Ranch Salad Dressing

Great On Fries, Burgers And Wings!

This quick fix BBQ Ranch dressing isn’t just for salads. That’s for sure. I squirted it on a big plate of French fries. Then I dipped grilled chicken wings in it. I slathered it on hot-off-the-grill hamburgers. Heck, it’s great on wraps too!

Just make sure you start with good, quality BBQ sauce and Ranch dressing. And don’t hesitate to use a spicy BBQ sauce, or one with a bit of smoky flavor to it.

This dressing will last a while in the fridge, if there happens to be any leftover. Just make sure to give it a good shake or stir before serving.

Parmesan and Peppercorn Ranch Salad Dressing

This parmesan and peppercorn ranch salad dressing kinda confused me at first. I love ranch dressing. I love peppercorn ranch dressing. And parmesan, well I put that on everything. But when I first tasted it my mouth was like ‘What are you doing to me? Everything we love in one bite?’ Yep. That’s exactly what I was doing. This dressing is a wonderful combination of all those flavors. Get ready for a happy salad! (And mouth!)

Parmesan and Peppercorn Ranch Salad Dressing

Not Creamy Smooth. But Close.

This parmesan peppercorn ranch salad dressing has parmesan in it. I know, you know that. But I’m saying it because you might expect a creamy, smooth dressing like ranch. And it is that… with a little nutty cheese added in. The cheese adds not only flavor but texture. It’s kinda different and a whole lot yummy.

My honey-mustard ranch dressing is different, too!

Jalapeno Ranch Salad Dressing

I could’ve made a smooth, creamy, mellow Ranch dressing. Like I have a number of times before. But no, I wanted a bit of a change. I wanted a salad dressing that would sneak up on me and then hit me with a little kick. This jalapeno Ranch dressing has that bit of kick, but also a great pepper flavor. I’m not a big fan of jalapeno-infused flavors where I can’t still taste the fact that the jalapeno is a pepper. This jalapeno Ranch dressing has that and more. No forgetting that the jalapeno is a pepper here.

Jalapeno Ranch Salad Dressing

Ranch Elevated With A Kick

The dressing thickens a bit as it sits. If it gets too thick for your liking just add a bit more buttermilk. A little at a time. Don’t add too much at a time. You can add more, but you can’t take it out once it’s in there! Stir and serve.

This dressing is also great as a dip for vegetables or chips. Use less buttermilk to make a thick, spicy dressing for hamburgers, wraps, or sandwiches.

Honky Tonk Sweet and Spicy Salad Dressing

Sweet and spicy is right. I admit, though, I’m not sure about the Honky Tonk part. But even still, what a great dressing! It has a nice vinegar hit to it. And I spicy kick, thanks to the addition of Sriracha sauce. And my favorite, celery seed. I absolutely love celery seed in everything from a salad dressing to a BBQ seasoning rub to coleslaw. If you’re looking for a break from your tired old salad dressing, this Honky Tonk Sweet and Spicy salad dressing is it. Don’t be shy with it. Load up. You’ll thank me.

Honky Tonk Sweet and Spicy Salad Dressing

It Gets Better With Time

This Honky Tonk sweet and spicy salad dressing gets even better as it sits. You should let it ‘get happy’ for a few hours. But I have to say, it didn’t sit long in our house. I really like this dressing a lot. It’s different in a very, very good way. I like to make a double batch and keep it in salad dressing serving bottles in the fridge. I’m kind of a dressing addict so it’s best that I have extra on hand at all times. It’s always better to have too much instead of not having enough!

Honey-Mustard Ranch Salad Dressing

So simple, yet so tasty, this honey-mustard ranch salad dressing really topped off the side salads we had with our burgers the other day. Using ingredients we had on hand, this dressing came together in no time. It has a light ranch flavor. One that’s not overpowering. Ditto the Dijon mustard. Some mustard dressings are, well, too mustardy. Not this one. You get the hints of without it reaching out to grab you. Last, there’s a slight hint of sweetness to balance it out, specially the vinegar. This is a great all-around winner of a salad dressing.

Honey-Mustard Ranch Salad Dressing

The Perfectly Balanced Dressing

If you have buttermilk on hand, you could use it instead of the milk and vinegar mixture. But it’s easy enough to make a quick homemade version instead. This honey-mustard ranch salad dressing is great either way. I prefer to have it ‘get happy’ in the fridge overnight, but it’s great after 15 minutes of rest too. If you do let it go overnight, I recommend tasting it before serving. You might want to add a pinch or two more of salt and pepper to it first.

Oh, and you’ll want to double the recipe!

Homemade Thousand Island Salad Dressing

There are certainly a whole lot of homemade Thousand Island dressing recipes out on the internet and in cookbooks. They’re everywhere. But I found this one to be slightly different. The flavor is richer. It’s deeper. And it has just a little spicy kick to it. It’s different and just better than the rest. And it uses ingredients that I have on-hand. That’s a plus. Perfect on a salad, and even better on a Reuben sandwich.

Homemade Thousand Island Salad Dressing

Add A Little Spice. I Did.

I wasn’t shy with the hot sauce when I made this homemade Thousand Island dressing. Now, I wasn’t making spicy wing sauce, no, but I wanted to get that spiciness. So many dressings are just creamy. Or just vinegary. A little heat changes things up. But you don’t have to.

So why is it called Thousand Island dressing? Because it came from the Thousand Island region between the US and Canada. I didn’t know that either.

Check out my always-growing list of the best homemade salad dressings and toppings.

Everything Bagel Salad Dressing

My wife announced that she was going to make this Everything Bagel seasoning salad dressing again. That was after the very first taste. She loved the creaminess. And the slight tang of vinegar. That’s unusual since she’s usually not a fan of vinegar. This dressing has just the right amount of vinegar for her tastes. And oh, the bagel seasoning! That combination of garlic, onion and sesame seeds is amazing in a dressing and fantastic on a green salad. I agree, this is one winner of a dressing.

Everything Bagel Salad Dressing

A Wonderfully Tasty Dressing

This Everything Bagel salad dressing is a nice, creamy dressing with just the right thickness to it. We used ‘real’ mayonnaise and ‘real’ milk when we made it. None of that light or non-fat stuff. But, you could. And it might make it not as creamy. But it’ll still be out-of-this-world delicious so if light or low-fat is what you have on-hand or prefer, go for it!

We highly recommend that you double this recipe. It makes about four servings as it’s written, but I might argue that it’s really just enough for two! It’s that good!
